Boards for phenolic insulation

Pentane, a hydrocarbon with qualities resembling those of butane and hexane, is the most prevalent blowing agent used in the manufacture of this type of insulation. To help prevent the blowing agent from escaping during the production process, the stiff boards are faced with either glass tissue or gas-tight aluminum foil.

Due to the extremely low heat conductivity of phenolic foam, rigid phenolic insulation products have excellent thermal insulating qualities. Because to its low thermal conductivity, the required thermal performance goals can be met with only a thin layer of insulation. This is especially important in situations where preserving space is crucial.

The reflective foil has additional insulating benefits by functioning as a radiative barrier. When installed next to an enclosed space without ventilation, the low emissivity facings enhance thermal performance. Because of this, using phenolic boards to partially fill holes in outside walls is extremely effective.
